Mustard Glass is a custom glass and jewelry company based in Kansas City, Kansas.

Mustard Glass was started by Hanni Woelk in 2024. While it's just begun, the idea was percolating for years before.

Hanni has been creative since childhood, and it shows. In high school, she even won first place for a jewelry box she designed. Her love of art and creating followed her to college, where she studied art therapy to combine the process of making art and helping others find their way through art. While she was there, she also fell into learning and practicing glassblowing, which took up as many of her college art credits as possible. She was entranced with every aspect: the hotshop, kiln casting, design . . . you name it, she was interested, but never thought it would take as a career.

Hanni eventually graduated with that art therapy degree and spent the last 17 years fighting her way up the ranks to director status in the world of the non-profit mental health sector, but still felt..unsettled. She’d conquered the therapy side of things, but missed the art, the creating, and decided to return to glass artistry, “just as a hobby.” She enrolled in classes and studio time at Public Glassworks KC and found herself hooked on lampworking. It was the perfect combination of glasswork and jewelry- making, and thus, the magic began.

It’s a little more than a hobby now, by the way. Over time, Hanni’s built a studio and honed her bead and jewelry designing skills to result in the captivating, glassy creations you see on this site. Now, she’s ready to share her whimsical, one of a kind pieces with you.
